Lewisham Centre: Placetelling

Landsec U+I is developing plans to create a new centre for Lewisham, south-east London, promising to deliver 1700 new homes and a range of experiences that are firmly rooted in the area’s culture.

My placetelling narrative, sampled in an online video at morethanaplace.com drew on milestone events in the area’s’s past to provide a cultural north star for the project and communicate its vision to the local community.

In May 2024, 89% of the local people asked felt positively about the project. “That’s testament to bringing the community on the ride through the power of storytelling,” says Sam Jarrett, LandsecU+I’s Head of Marketing & Communications. “We want people to feel like development is happening with them, not to them. Your words help us to do that!”
